Hello I’m Amanda

I am a Psychologist and Clinical Hypnotherapist based in Castlebar, Co.Mayo since 2011. My aim is to provide an empathetic, effective, empirically grounded therapy service. In a time where many find themselves under immense pressure; often feeling overwhelmed, it is vital to highlight that areas such as stress, anxiety, panic attacks, and sleep difficulties among others, can be effectively treated in a relatively short space of time, with long term gains.

Range of Therapy

At this point, you may be unsure, of what exactly you require in order to help you make desired changes in your life. Although it may feel difficult to take that first step, therapy can offer you the chance to overcome difficulties leading to clarity, ease and contentment.


Hypnosis provides access to non-conscious psychological processes i.e. thoughts and behaviours which are well engrained and automatic. Through guidance, you are directed in using the hypnosis to evoke productive healthy alternative thoughts and emotions. You collaborate with your therapist regarding the suggestions to introduce.


Mindfulness involves taking a pause from the incessant activity of the mind. Many people go through life as if it is a race against time. Too frequently, we miss out on much of human experience, by rehashing the past and/or worrying about the future. Mindfulness presents a unique way of dealing with everyday challenges.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based psychological therapy. The emphasis is on recognising and modifying negative thoughts and unhelpful behaviours. This is found to impact positively on thoughts and emotions. I am a Psychologist and Clinical Hypnotherapist based in Castlebar, Co.Mayo that offers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques and strategies, to clients based in Castlebar and the wider Mayo hinterland.
